The Stack Our Developers Actually Work In

You Are Hiring a Developer, Not Buying a Project
Most agencies want to take your requirements away and return with software. That suits some problems and is wrong for others. If you already have a team, a codebase and a roadmap, what you usually need is another pair of hands inside all three — not a separate organisation building alongside you.
Our developers join your standups, your board and your code review. You brief them directly and you decide what they work on. We handle contracts, invoicing and the awkward conversations, and otherwise stay out of the way.

Real Broken Code, Not Whiteboard Trivia
Every developer we put forward has debugged something genuinely broken, reviewed a pull request with real problems buried in it, and talked through a system design decision including the trade-off they would refuse to make.
None of that predicts brilliance. What it does reliably catch is the gap between someone who has read about production and someone who has been on call for it. What you see in the profile is what turns up in your standup.
The full vetting processThe Ecosystem, Not Just the Language
Most JavaScript hiring goes wrong on the ecosystem rather than the language. Knowing React is not knowing why your data-fetching layer refetches on every focus.
Node Frameworks
- Express, still the default and still fine for most services
- NestJS when structure and dependency injection earn their weight
- Fastify when throughput and schema validation matter
- Koa, Hapi and AdonisJS where a team already uses them
React Libraries
- Next.js and the routing model your app actually uses
- Redux Toolkit, Zustand and when neither is needed
- TanStack Query for server state and cache invalidation
- React Hook Form and Zod for forms that validate once
Node Libraries
- Prisma, Drizzle and TypeORM for database access
- BullMQ for background jobs that must not be lost
- Socket.io and ws where real time is genuinely required
- Zod, Passport and the auth pieces people get wrong
From Brief to Someone in Your Standup
Share the Role
Stack, seniority, engagement type and the hours you need overlapped. Ten minutes, not a job spec.
Get Profiles
Two or three pre-screened developers within three business days, with what they have actually built.
Interview Directly
You run your own process. Technical round, pairing session, whatever you normally do.
They Start
We handle contracts and invoicing. They join your board and report to you.

Start With an Audit of What You Already Have
If a previous team is handing over, or you have inherited a codebase nobody can explain, a fixed-price audit is a cheaper first step than hiring into a situation nobody understands yet.
You get a written findings report: what is dangerous, what is merely untidy, what will break under growth, and what is genuinely fine and should be left alone. You get that assessment whether or not you go on to hire anyone through us.
Four Things We Do Differently
Rigorous Screening
Live coding and system design on real production scenarios before anyone reaches your inbox.
Flexible Engagement
Part-time, full-time or fixed project. Scale up or down without renegotiating everything.
Direct Communication
You brief the developer yourself. Nothing is relayed through an account manager.
Replacement Guarantee
Not the right fit in the first two weeks? We replace them at no cost.
What Clients Ask First
How quickly can a developer start?
You get two or three vetted profiles within three business days of sending us the role. Most engagements then start within one to two weeks, which is mostly your interview scheduling and notice on the developer side rather than anything on ours. If you need somebody sooner, say so — occasionally we have a developer rolling off another engagement who can start almost immediately.
Can I hire one developer rather than a whole team?
Yes, and a single developer is the most common request we get. There is no minimum team size and no requirement to take a project manager or an account layer you did not ask for. If one developer turns into three later, they join the same engagement rather than starting a new commercial conversation.
What happens if the developer is not the right fit?
We replace them at no cost inside the first two weeks. In practice a mismatch is usually visible in the first few days, which is why the window exists at all. Tell us what was wrong rather than just that it did not work, because that is what makes the replacement better rather than merely different.
Do I work with the developer directly?
Directly. They join your standups, your board and your code review, and you brief them yourself. There is no account manager relaying requirements, because that layer adds delay and loses detail. We stay involved for contracts, invoicing and anything that is not day-to-day work.
How do you actually vet developers?
Live problems taken from real production codebases rather than whiteboard puzzles. A candidate debugs something genuinely broken, reviews a pull request with real problems in it, and talks through a system design decision including the trade-off they would not make. We are looking for how someone reasons when the answer is not obvious, which is what you actually hire for.
